A self help group is an informal associattion of weak/poor persons in a community with a common objective of working together for their economical and social development.
JCM has so far formed over 150 groups
Activities of SHGs: - Awareness on the SHG concept
- Mobilizing savings
- Training book writers
- Skills training
- Literacy classes to learn how to read and write
- Weekly meetings
 Achievements - Members have started diffrent businesses
- Saving regularly and giving each other loans
- Benefit of belonging to a group is being realised
- Members are able to assist each other
- Increased knowlegde among members on issues of health, business, general community development etc
- Members are able to make their own decisions

Project title: “Combating Child Labour and HIV/AIDS” Project Sponsor: Kindernothilfe (KNH) Project Area: Central Province (Kabwe)
Targets: A total of 900 Children under the preventive strategy, out of which 400 will be those who have dropped or never enrolled and 500 will be those already in formal schools and at risk of dropping from school- A total of 100 children under the curative strategy
- A total of 100 youths Economic Empowerement
- A total of 200 caregivers for economic Empowerement
- At least 7,000 people to benefit from Awareness Raising
Main Objectives: - To identify project beneficiaries- To build Capacity and empower targeted people and ensure sustainability, to empower targeted family caregivers, to empower targeted youths and to provide adult learning
- To provide Education and Survival skills to affected children
- To raise awareness to targeted people
- To strengthen Government efforts to implement national policies
Sponsor: Kindernothilfe Programme Title: Combating Child Labor and HIV/AIDS through Sustainable Community Empowerment Programme Description: Programme for Prevention/withdrawal of HIV/AIDS affected Children from Child Labour by improving their livelihood systems and socio economic status of their household and communities. Children will be empowered through education, while youths, caregivers and community committees will be empowered through capacity building and various trainings such as business skills and IGAs.  Target Group: - A total of 1000 Children for prevention and withdrawal from child labor will be supported with education, survival skills and child rights.
- A total of 200 Youths for Economic Empowerment
- A total of 400 caregivers for Economic Empowerment
- At least 10,000 people to benefit from Awareness Raising
- A total of 200 orphans and vulnerable children will be supported under the Sponsorship system
Other Support: The children would also be provided with psychosocial counseling, group discussions on issues of HIV/AIDS and Children’s Rights and survival skills Project Area: Kapiri Mposhi in Central Province
